About

Welcome to “Starve a Fever” the health care site for the curious. As a nurse practitioner with over 15 years experience in hospital settings, nursing homes and now currently in internal medicine,  this site is designed for individuals who have an active interest and curiosity about their health.

Given the overwhelming amount of information that is on the internet, it’s difficult to know what information to trust, especially when it comes to your health.

So here are my credentials:

I am a certified family nurse practioner (FNP), having received my Masters Degree in Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1997. I am trained to diagnose and treat medical problems, order blood work and diagnostic tests, as well as prescribe medications. Because of my nursing background, I am also trained to look at the whole person rather than focus on just the illness.

I also have a degree in Education and taught English overseas for over a decade.

 Quality Assurance Manager

In addition to seeing patients, I also oversee quality assurance for our busy 5 practice physician group. I develop, implement, monitor and assess that national “best-practice” guidelines are followed.
