How Often Does the Average Person Sneeze and Blow the Nose?

Submitted by admin on Friday, October 30 2009No Comment

Yes, there was a study done on this in order to evaluate different types of treatment for rhinitis (chronic runny nose). The study, conducted in Copenhagen, Denmark, took 80 hospital employees who were self-described as having no problems with rhinitis, kept track of the daily number of sneezes and nose blowing they had over a 14 day period.

Ninety-five percent sneezed and blew their nose less than 4 times a day – anything more might be considered a sign of rhinitis. The study was published in the journal Rhinology in March, 2002 but you can read the abstract at the National Center for Biotechnology Information, part of the National Institutes for Health.
