Side Effects of Anabolic Steroids

Anabolic steroids are a derivative of the hormone testosterone and have been used by athletes to build muscle mass and increase endurance. Consider the following side effects of taking anabolic steroids:

 

  • stunted growth in young people
  • decreased sperm production
  • testicular atrophy (shrinking)
  • baldness
  • development of breast glands (in men)
  • psychotic episodes
  • depression
  • mood swings
  • liver cancer
  • kidney damage
  • increased irritability and aggression

 

Plus it can be addicting. Besides, who wants to looks like the guy in the above picture?
