Food Cravings: What Is It You Really Want?

I StumbledUpon Dr. Colleen Huber’s website, Naturopathyworks the other evening and came across this interesting chart that breaks down food cravings into “If You Crave This”, “What You Really Need Is” and “Here Are Healthy Foods That Have It”. The theory is that food cravings are linked to specific deficiencies in our bodies.
So if you crave chocolates (who doesn’t?), sweets, salty foods or find yourself just generally overeating, try the suggestions listed. Let me know if it worked for you.

Wow, the list was so straight forward. I had no idea that what I felt like and what my body was actually trying to tell me were two completely different things!!!
next time I feel like something sweet, I’ll whip out some cheese and chicken.

also, many times one might think they are hungry but are actually thirsty and need to drink some good ol’ water!
so right – I’ve found that to be the case w/me! Another connection I’ve found w/water is that some kinds of headaches go away when you’re well hydrated. It’s the first thing I think of when I get a HA.
