The short answer is calcium carbonate, 500 mg 2-3 times a day is fine to take as long as you&#039;re not on any antacids or taking any pills that neutralize the acid in your stomach - like Pepcid, Prilosec etc. If you are one of these types of meds, then take calcium citrate.</description>
